Storyboarding

I'm taking Storyboarding with Ricardo Delgado this term. I'm getting so much pencil mileage...I'm already kind of proud of the sheer amount of work I've been producing. First assignment, I boarded the opening sequence of The Incredibles...and for some reason it's out of order..oh well.

Advanced Sketching for Illustration

I'm also taking Gary Meyer's Advanced Sketching for Illustration this term and it's lots of fun and just as relaxing as Digital Landscape. It's also the mileage I need of painting a costumed model with acrylic. Hopefully, I'll make time to post the rest of the term's work over the break. Most of the pictures are kind of blurry...my camera wasn't working properly. Sorry.

Right now (summer term), I'm taking Digital Landscape with Mike Humpries. He's an awesome painter and I'm learning a lot since it's my first time attempting landscape painting. Apart from these paintings, I've been keeping a sketchbook..which I'll try to find time to scan and upload eventually.

Digital Life

Last term I took a class called Digital Life with Cliff Neilson. I learned a ton in that class, especially about starting loose, not worrying too much about form and the drawing at first and tightening it up as you go.

Week 1 first painting of the class

Our first homework assignment was to do a master copy to learn how to use photoshop or corel painter. I chose to do Lady Agnes by John Singer Sargent

Week 2, in class painting, Cliff loves this kind of dark set-up

Our mid-term project. I chose to do a poster for Cirque Berzerk.

Final project, I chose to do a layout painting of a scene from the Grimm Brother's Iron Hans story.
